X and Y axes in file graph don't display values above 100 correctly

How to replicate: Open file graph and set the X or Y to a range from 0 to a value above 100 (e.g. 200).
Values such as 100 and above are displayed as "1.0e+02" and so on.

Processing used 3.5.2.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. The program is still working correctly since 1.0e+02 is the scientific notation for the number 100 (simply take the number at the front 1.0 and the e+02 tells you to add 2 zeros to the end).

In theory the program should use whichever notation is the smallest to display, with the intention that the labels don't take up the whole screen for very large numbers. For example, 2000000000 would be 2.0e+09. I'm not sure why it is shown in the case of 200 though. Perhaps you can upload a screenshot.

Hi, thanks for your reply! For very high values this makes sense, but for somewhat smaller values it makes it a bit hard to read. I noticed that at a certain window resolution the scale switches to the scientific notation. I'm working on a 16" laptop screen with a resolution of 1920x1200. Here is a screenshot:

I think I see what the problem is. My code does have a function which automatically switches between decimal and scientific notation depending on whichever is shorter, and this works correctly in all applications I've seen so far (see code here).

However, it assumes that all numbers are always shown using a fullstop "." as the decimal point, while your computer uses a comma "," instead (this changes depending on which country you are in, for example, most English speaking countries use a fullstop, while most European countries use a comma). This means the number of characters in the labels is counted incorrectly in some countries...

The fix which I will need to implement is to make number display parsing localisation independent.
