@devine7022: Welcome to the project! This week, your primary goal is to familiarize yourself with the CCMMF project. As you read, please ask questions in the most relevant channels:

Core Reading

• Review the Modeling Framework document (focus especially on the workplan section at the end).
• Review the Modeling Workplan. This is the same as above, but edited and transferred to the project board as we go.
• Review the project board, paying attention to tasks assigned to @dlebauer or unassigned and linked to the workplan.

• Read the first progress report.
• Downscaling pipeline:
  • Reports: http://ccmmf.github.io/downscaling/; note "TODOs"
  • Explore the repository: github.com/ccmmf/downscaling. You won't be able to run it at this point without access to one of the HPCs.
• Review how Henry is thinking about pipeline reproducibility and portability in his PR Targets-based workflows leveraging slurm for dist. computing - workflow 1a and POC workflows#13 including his approach to using the targets package; see also targets docs.

First steps:

• If there is any unclear terminology, assumptions, or workflows ask on the channels above as you go; or compile them and we can go over these in a 1:1.
• Identify a set of tasks that you want to get started on. Hint: our next tasks are focused on phases 3 and 4.
