IF Statements

Hi,   With the formula cells I have a section that calculates the percentage of the persons year that they could save.   On my excel sheet the formula works ok because it has If statements.  I.e depending on the data the user inputs.  I.e it canlt say that they will save -5% per year or 129% per year.   Do you know how to work the formlas in this situation?
