Store results by UA?

When this project launched there was a project called Browserscope that we used to store data about passes/fails. Eventually that stopped working and we removed it. However, having a way to store and display this data would be useful.

Since this is a community project, something that keeps it low-fi and cheap would be preferable. Perhaps just a directory (or separate repo — we've already discussed moving this to its own org) and then an easy way to commit / PR that? (madata.dev might help with the GitHub I/O)
We could then have build-time or client-side code that aggregates the data and presents it in a nice way.

Generally, I'd really like to have a way to be able to store the results (and use them for comparisons).

Saving the data right in the repository was also what I had in mind in https://github.com/LeaVerou/css3test/issues/57#issuecomment-1007807608. @LeaVerou You also mentioned Firebase before. Having a real DB behind it, might probably be better in the long term, though a simple file-based solution would already go a long way.

Maybe supabase (based on PostgreSQL) is also an alternative?

Storing in the repo only works if you have permissions in the repo, but ideally we'd want to crowdsource this, which would give us much better results.
We don't need to run the same tests on the same browser multiple times though, presumably the combination of UA + feature id would be effectively a primary key for the data.
I agree a file-based solution would probably be fine for now.

How about this for a low-fi idea:

• I move the site to Netlify, so we can run functions (I have a free unrestricted account, courtesy of the nice folks there)
• We store data as JSON files in a directory. We could start with one file per UA string. If the UA is not found, or the file's date is older than the last commit date, we store the data there.
• To prevent abuse files would be stored in a temp directory until reviewed by one of us and moved
