hi everyone! I’m a cs engineering student with a strong interest in cybersecurity, and I’d love to contribute to the Borg Collective for GSoC 2026.

I've reviewed the ideas page and see some great security relevant tasks. however, first things first I plan to explore the good first issues across BorgBackup, Vorta, and Borgmatic to get familiar with the different codebases and see where my skills fit best.

Yes, you can. New ideas are welcome too, as long as they make sense for a large enough subset of users.

My name is Maadhavan Gupta, and I am a sophomore at Pomona College majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. I am very interested in contributing to one of the Borg-related projects for GSoC 2026.

I have experience working with Python on backend systems, automation workflows, and infrastructure-oriented projects where reliability and clean architecture are important. I am particularly interested in areas such as the Vorta scheduler refactor or improving type coverage, as they involve thoughtful design and long-term maintainability.
