This is not a bug report at all, just a note to the author that I made another plugin that also shows a Nyan Cat, but in the macOS menu bar (so a different use, but very related), here: https://github.com/BoD/NyanTrayIntelliJPlugin
It would be cool if you linked to it somewhere in the readme of this project - I've put a link to this one there :)
