The initial conditions file, which comes as standard on github, contains the nodal coordinates for the kite in fully powered position (up=1, ld=ld0) with a deployed tape length of 1.098m (design geometry). Do you have the initial conditions file that corresponds with the "initial conditions" for the depowered kite (8% or 13% like in your research paper or other states)? This way I can start the FSI simulations from a pre-loaded kite, rather than from the design geometry that is defined in the original 'initial conditions'.
