Will either of the available Gledopto firmwares work on a GL-C-618WL?

Hi,

Recently setup HyperHDR and currently have it controlling my 12v SK6812's via WLED. But I saw a recent post in the HyperHDR discussions about the white LED working better by using HyperK instead of WLED.

I see in the releases there are firmwares for the GL-C-615WL and GL-C-616WL devices. But mine is the GL-C-618WL so I'm wondering if either of those would still function on my 618WL?

If not, since I own the device is there any data I can provide that would help with developing firmware for this model?

GL-C-618WL is using the same firmware as GL-C-616WL. You read about the progress here: #26

So the flashing is basically only when the lights turn on then?

Yes, only when turning on power relay (and not always: like 50% chance) in the previous version that mholbert1024 was testing. It's fixed now in the current developing version.

EDIT: Nevermind got it installed. I needed to just use 0x0 instead of the 0x1000 Google told me Gledopto uses

Ah ok thanks. I'm now trying to install it using esptool on windows. The command I used is .\esptool.exe --port COM7 write-flash 0x1000 Hyperk_0.0.4_esp32-GLEDOPTO_GL_C_616WL_factory.bin and the tool appears to run fine and outputs:

But the AP network never shows up. I did the power cycle as well. Now what I'm trying to figure out is if the 0x1000 is actually the right address (Google said to use that) and also how to get this into DFU mode (I didn't need to get into any special mode to install or update WLED firmware) there doesn't appear to be a boot and reset button on the board. The only button I see is labelled IO17 but I don't know what it does. There are 4 dip switches but I'm unsure what they do

I used 0x0 and worked fine. Do you have the Ethernet plugged in? I don't think you'll get AP with the ethernet plugged in initially ( at least I didn't ). To configure WiFi. I left the Ethernet unplugged on initial boot and saw the AP.
The dip switches are to control the resistor values.

This is what I did for install:

python -m esptool --port COM4 --baud 460800 erase-flash

Yeah I realized 0x0 was what was needed. I used ethernet yes. But had to connect to WiFi first to access AP mode.

I didn't do the baud part of that command though. Is that important?

EDIT: Nvm about the white LED calibration in HyperK. That is working.

The issue I have now is no matter what I set the White channel calibration to in HyperK the white color being output doesn't seem to change. But I'm not sure if that's something to do with HyperK or HyperHDR? Also unsure if I should enable "Enable RGBW with dithering by Infinite Color Engine" in HyperHDR or not since AFAIK HyperK is meant to control the white LED without having to send it over the network.
