Hi, following the step by step did not work for me.
After doing more research and reading online, I found a different tutorial which works perfectly well:

According to Pi engineers, setting PSU_MAX_CURRENT=3000 is specifically meant for a bench supply and it will expect a constant 3A current. The reason this works is that it bypasses PD initialization, but it would be better if PD initialization could be fixed in firmware. PD initialization works fine without the setting above but no OTG, or PD is bypassed and OTG works but the Pi is expecting a much higher current. A third option I tried was to connect a “CC Fixer” from Adafruit, which prevents PD initialization, enables OTG and doesn’t require the eeprom alteration above. The CC Fixer is more of a tester than an adapter and wouldn’t survive the wear and tear of traveling with an ipad and pi but the concept works if a stronger adapter exists.
