SOLIDPOD: Restore the example app

Description

Restore the example app as before, which did not utilise SolidScaffold for the app.

Why

This makes the package more complete, facilitates daily development and testing, and makes it easier for new users to get started.

Closing Criteria

Checklist for closing the issue:

• No errors from make prep
• All tests pass make qtest
• The example app is created under the example folder.
