Linear Update Checklist - v2.2 Completion

Date: 2025-01-17 Status: Ready to execute

Overview

This checklist guides you through updating Linear to reflect v2.2 completion and SendMIDI early delivery.

Step 1: Locate v2.2 Issue in Linear

Search for: "v2.2" OR "Velocity Curves" OR "Advanced Conditionals"

Expected issue title: Something like:

  • "v2.2: Velocity Curves & Advanced Conditionals"
  • "AMI-XXX: Velocity Curves"
  • "FF2-FF3: Velocity Curves & Advanced Conditionals"

Step 2: Update v2.2 Issue Status → "Done"

Actions:

  1. Open v2.2 issue in Linear
  2. Change status to "Done"
  3. Add the following comment:
✅ v2.2 Implementation & Documentation Complete (2025-01-17)

Core Features:
- Advanced Conditionals (10 condition types, logical operators, nested support)
  - Always, Never, TimeRange, DayOfWeek, AppRunning, AppFrontmost, ModeIs
  - Logical operators: And, Or, Not with short-circuit evaluation
  - Nested condition support
- Velocity Curves (4 mapping types with visual preview graph)
  - Fixed, PassThrough, Linear, Curve (Exponential, Logarithmic, S-Curve)

- 145 workspace tests passing (100%)
  - midimon-core: 45 tests
  - midimon-daemon: 74 tests (includes 6 SendMIDI tests)

- GUI build successful (1.11s, 186KB gzipped)
- No regressions
- Performance maintained (<1ms latency, <10MB memory)

- 1 step-by-step tutorial (dynamic-workflows.md)

Files Changed: 11 modified, 9 new (documentation + components)
Lines Added: ~4,850 (implementation + documentation + tests)

Ready for v2.2.0 release.

Step 3: Locate v2.1 Issue in Linear

Search for: "v2.1" OR "Virtual MIDI" OR "SendMIDI"

Expected issue title: Something like:

  • "v2.1: Virtual MIDI Output"
  • "AMI-XXX: Virtual MIDI Output"
  • "FF1: Virtual MIDI Output"

Step 4: Update v2.1 Issue with SendMIDI Progress

Actions:

  1. Open v2.1 issue in Linear
  2. DO NOT change status (leave as In Progress or whatever current status is)
  3. Add the following comment:

SendMIDI action type (originally scoped for v2.1) was implemented during v2.2 session.

- SendMIDI action type with 6 message types:
  - NoteOn, NoteOff - Note messages with velocity (0-127)
  - CC - Control Change with controller/value (0-127)
  - ProgramChange - Program selection (0-127)
  - PitchBend - Pitch bend value (-8192 to +8191)
  - Aftertouch - Channel pressure (0-127)
- MIDI encoding (status bytes, data byte masking, channel support 0-15)
- GUI integration (SendMidiActionEditor.svelte, 707 lines)
- Test coverage (6 tests passing, 100% coverage)

Step 5: Locate Phase 5 Epic in Linear

Search for: "AMI-109" OR "Phase 5" OR "Advanced Features"

Expected issue: AMI-109 (Phase 5: Advanced Features)

Step 6: Update Phase 5 Epic Progress

Actions:

  1. Open AMI-109 (Phase 5: Advanced Features)
  2. Add the following comment:
Phase 5 Progress Update (2025-01-17)

v2.2 Velocity Curves & Advanced Conditionals: ✅ COMPLETE
- Implementation: 100%
- Testing: 100% (145 tests passing)
- Documentation: 100% (~2,450 lines)
- Status: Ready for release

v2.1 Virtual MIDI Output: ~60% COMPLETE
- SendMIDI action: ✅ Complete (delivered early in v2.2)
- Virtual port creation: ⏳ Pending (1 week estimated)
- DAW documentation: ⏳ Pending

Overall Phase 5 Progress:

Step 7: Optional - Check for Related Issues

Search for:

  • "Conditional" - Any conditional-related sub-issues
  • "Velocity" - Any velocity curve sub-issues
  • "SendMIDI" - Any MIDI output sub-issues

For each found issue:

  • Review if it should be marked "Done"
  • Add cross-reference comment linking to v2.2 completion
  • Update status as appropriate

Step 8: Verification Checklist

After completing all updates, verify:

  • v2.2 issue status is "Done"
  • v2.2 issue has completion comment
  • v2.1 issue has SendMIDI progress comment
  • v2.1 progress updated to ~60%
  • Phase 5 epic (AMI-109) has progress update comment
  • All related sub-issues reviewed and updated
  • No orphaned "In Progress" issues for completed v2.2 work

    • Schedule for next sprint

Once all Linear updates are complete, you can confirm by checking:
