First, nice write-up! It's great that you included everything -- hardware, scripts, container -- to showcase a working example and how it all comes together.
That said, I'm having trouble following the pin references. Your hardware image shows a transmit connection to Pin 7 (GPIO 4) but the Python library reads off pin 17. Was that a typo, or is there a different mapping somewhere between the pins on the hardware and the references in the class?
