Code of Conduct – DSA-JavaVerse

Our Pledge

We, as members, contributors, and leaders of DSA-JavaVerse, pledge to make participation in our project and community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of:

  • Age
  • Body size
  • Visible or invisible disability
  • Ethnicity
  • Sex characteristics
  • Gender identity and expression
  • Level of experience
  • Education
  • Socioeconomic status
  • Nationality
  • Personal appearance
  • Race
  • Religion
  • Sexual identity and orientation

We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.

Our Standards

Examples of Positive Behavior:

  • Demonstrating empathy and kindness
  • Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences
  • Providing constructive feedback
  • Accepting responsibility and apologizing when mistakes happen
  • Focusing on the best interests of the community

Examples of Unacceptable Behavior:

  • Harassment, insults, or derogatory comments
  • Trolling, abusive language, or personal attacks
  • Publishing private information (e.g., addresses, contact details) without consent
  • Any conduct that could be reasonably considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Enforcement Responsibilities

  • Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying and enforcing this Code of Conduct.
  • They may remove, edit, or reject contributions that do not align with this Code.
  • Maintainers may also ban contributors for behavior deemed inappropriate, threatening, or harmful.

Enforcement Guidelines

1. Correction

Impact: Use of inappropriate language or minor violation.
Consequence: A private, written warning with clarification on expected behavior.

2. Warning

Impact: Continued inappropriate behavior after correction.
Consequence: A warning with consequences for continued violations.

3. Temporary Ban

Impact: Serious violation of community standards.
Consequence: Temporary ban from participation in project activities.

4. Permanent Ban

Impact: Demonstrating a pattern of harmful behavior or harassment.
Consequence: Permanent removal from the community.

Reporting Issues

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it by:

  • Opening an Issue in the repository
  • Use the Discussions tab for Q&A and general talk

All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.
