folderv doesn't work

https://github.com/aidenlx/alx-folder-note/wiki/folder-overview describes using folderv to create a folder overview. First of all, the linked page (https://github.com/aidenlx/alx-folder-note/wiki/folderv-options) says "Currently, only three options are available in folderv: target, sort, and filter, which are specified in yaml. What do you mean "in YAML?" Does that mean that the example

target: MyFolder
sort: create-new
filter: "*.mp4"

must be placed in the YAML section of the file at the very beginning. That does not work at all.
Furthermore I put

sort: create-new
filter: "*.md"

in my folder note and it does absolutely nothing but sit there.
I got to this point by trying to understand how to use the options under "Folder Overview>Manage." Is there any examples, or videos on using your plugin that would help me?
