State Parks printable maps

Benefit

Design proof of concept printable maps that will be used as a consistent templates for all State Parks across the state. Initial batch that will be focused on are Level 3 parks; Antelope Island will be the proof of concept. The three styles of maps that will be designed are:

• Campsite
• Brochure
• Trails

Linked spreadsheet includes the list of parks in priority order, which map types each park requires, and whether a map inset is required.

Acceptance Criteria

• Create general template that will be used for all printable State Park maps. This would include:
  • Design of roads, campsites, trails, water, etc...
  • Section for general info, park address, contact info, versioning
  • Legend and symbology
  • Fonts - assumption is that we should be using the new State of Utah Brand Guidelines, and use UT Industry for titles and Source Sans as the supporting typeface

Notes

• ParksPass may have much of the data that will be required for these maps. For any discussions around this, include Devan Chavez and Jason Cowley.

There is a State Parks employee at Antelope Island that has been working on his own project regarding mapping amenities at the Park. He manually inputted the coordinates for each location, so the data is pretty recent. He also did some work designing a "brochure" map of the Park, including what the rangers thought would be a good area to highlight with an inset. His work was all done in Pro, and he'll be sharing it with us via a Map package. His student Pro license will be expiring soon, so we should have this data by next week.

Chris H is also looking into getting the data from Aspira. He had some issues with the instructions provided, so he'll need to reach back out to Ileana at Aspira.
