Request from the JWG “Digital Battery Passport” of Catena-X and IDTA:
The use of the "Handover Documentation" submodel is prevented by the fact that too many elements are mandatory (e.g., StatusSetDate, Version, OrganizationShortName, etc.), but are not required in some product groups such as the Digital Battery Passport which follows regulations. To be strict, you cannot simply add more manditory data elements that are not requested.
For this reason, the JWG has developed a subset IDTA-02035-2 of IDTA-02004, which is well matched to the use case of the Digital Battery Passport as required by the regulation.
Similar request was provided for the Nameplate here.
Adaptation is easier when almost all data elements are optional and specific product groups extract the data elements they need.
The submodel “ContactInformation” can be considered as blueprint, as all of its elements are defined as optional and it is very well suited for reuse.
