For comparison, on a backup SD card with zaparoo v2.11.0 the load is at 1.2 - 1.3 (2 while running PSX core) with spikes to up to 4, but scaling down again - running MISTer menu, bgm, remote.sh and zaparoo.sh

Hey newest official release on MISTer leads to a load of 4 and higher - I have updated the media db, it is not indexing right now but load stays high. The PSX core stutters now, which it did not do before. Is this a known problem? Log seems normal, nothing unusual.

100% not normal. Can you please enable debug and get the logs
