As a maintainer of a downstream package (mbest), I got an e-mail from CRAN (reproduced below) that said they weren't getting responses from the listed maintainer address ("Walerian Sokolowski r-logging@wlogsolutions.com").
We recently checked whether the maintainer contact address for package
'logging' is still up to date (as mandated by the CRAN Policy), but
unfortunately email to this address bounced.
Thus, package logging is now scheduled for archival on 2026-05-29, and
archiving this will necessitate also archiving its CRAN strong reverse
dependencies.
Please negotiate the necessary actions.
Perhaps one of you knows how to reach the maintainer at a different
address, and the maintainer can then submit a new version. If not,
perhaps one of you wants to take over as maintainer?
