Calculate the 'attachment point' for weapons from the 3rd person display settings > 1st person? #456

Maybe a big ask...

Currently it seems the display settings, and how the player's arms holds an item, are taken from the first person perspective display settings of a model.

This makes sense in theory, but in practice, this offsets a lot of pack models if they don't adhere to the vanilla item/handheld model display settings!

My texture pack (Barely Default) adds thousands of extra weapons to the vanilla game through name-dependent variants: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kSjHyrZ60fVfBGip9Ho6QbFmMZ1CCtDfqIQLVj4hFvM/edit?usp=drivesdk

Fans of my pack, but also other packs, would love to use Vivecraft and Barely Default!

But since we don't have a fancy third-person body when we look down in vanilla, resource packs like mine rely on the first-person view display setting to make weapons unique!

But that means, if I give my weapon custom display coords for the 1st person view, players who use Vivecraft see my models in strange positions :(

I rly hope I explained myself clearly! I found it hard to explain. Sorry if it was vague...

Kind regards,

Mickey Joe,

And many other packmakers whom's packs would be compatible with Vivecraft if it could use the third person display settings :D
