Why not to use DataLayer?

Hey there,

I've try to access the data layer but it's under "digitalData".

How you recomend to access the product id?

I've tried:
digitalData.product[0].productInfo.productID

As Javascript Variable on Tag Manager but didn't work.

Any tips?

Hi Cbox,

I'm wondering the same thing with Google Tag manager. How do I make the W3C DIGITAL DATA LAYER Magento extension talk to Google tag manager? Doesn't Google tag manager use 'dataLayer'

If you find anything out please share I've been struggling with this for weeks and I'm just stuck!

Hi,

I've changed it to this code:

<script type="text/javascript"> try { window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || []; window.dataLayer.push({'version': }); window.dataLayer.push({'page': }); window.dataLayer.push({'user': }); window.dataLayer.push({'product': }); window.dataLayer.push({'cart': }); window.dataLayer.push({'listing': }); window.dataLayer.push({'transaction': }); window.dataLayer.push({'events': }); window.dataLayer.push({'pluginVersion': }); window.dataLayer.push({'generatedDate': }); } catch (e) { console.log(e); } </script>

Then in the tag manager added any variables I wanted to.

The change is on the file: digital_data_layer.phtml
