Should Table numbering be global or within the sections?

I ask this because in Precalculus, the tables are numbered within the section (See Activity 2.5.13 https://library.tbil.org/2025/precalculus/FN5.html), whereas the numbering is apparently global in the Calculus book.

Maybe this is just a stand-in for now? It doesn't appear that the sections have had reference labels applied in the source code.

I think Precalculus (e.g. "Table 2.5.14") is preferable. I believe this extends to figures as well and Calculus and Linear Algebra share the same behavior of "Table 7" and "Figure 49".

Regardless of the decision on the overall numbering scheme (which should be made consistent), these particular <tabular>s should not be in <table>s since they are not referenced elsewhere, in alignment with our Style Guide

#863 takes care of this particular instance, but lets come to a consensus on how we want these numbered and make sure it is consistent across the three books.
