The specified solidity version in the code to be compiled must be ^0.7.0, otherwise the compilation will fail. Possible solutions for the future might be solc-select (https://github.com/crytic/solc-select) and truffle-solc-select (https://www.npmjs.com/package/truffle-solc-select).
