Military Academy Construction Stuck At Phase 3

First, thank you so much for your work on this mod. I look forward to enjoying it more after I progress, and I'm grateful for everything you do for this community.

Currently, I have an issue with the military academy Phase 3 production not starting despite all materials and supplies. I was able to continue through the first two phases without any problems, and Phase 3 does not begin with the same setup. I saw a similar issue documented in a Reddit comment and it was fixed in the latest update, but they were building a hotel versus the military academy.

So, you definetly have a bugged savegame on hands, the castle should never be in ruins while being in the Scaffolding stage. So either you have lost the island Santa Cruz before you "upgraded" the originial ruined buildings for the first time, or something else bugged out with the Quests (for example the "renovate ruin" quest sometimes autoresolves). Either way, this savegame is now softlocked and using the upgrade tool should result in a CTD.

Only solution is loading the save from before you either lost the island or had to solve the renovation quest (after the 1250 jornaleros) and do them agian. It is very importent with this mod, that you follow the quest exactly in order, slowly and not rush them, as well as read every detail given in the Known Issues on mod.io .

Thank you for the reply! I do not have other AI loaded and I've not lost the island before (or been in any combat in the region).

I'll see if I can recover from an earlier saved game or start fresh. Thanks!

Sometimes the Quest also bugs out "randomly", i.e. finsihing the ruins renovations quest although you have not upgraded the ruins. But this step is really important to do, as otherwise the quest is bricked unfortunately. The ruin stuff is not really working that well tbh and should probably be avoided in future as it is to unreliable.

I believe in my case I was using too many mods (my fault). If it's helpful, I can post the complete list, but the main thing is I had the "Crown Falls in the Old World" mod AND I had settled Cape Trelawney by the time I loaded in Colossus.

The Queen had already left the Cape, but I have read that putting too many mods together that clone Crown Falls might lead to issues. My first clue is that I started to get a terrain flickering issuing across all regions as I was building up Santa Cruz. I tested my save game file on another high performance gaming rig with the same problem and I experimented with graphics settings.

Rolling back to a different saved game fixed the issue entirely! The terrain flickering issue was a key insight that I was probably pushing things too far with all of the mod conflicts. Modders like you put such great stuff out there for us players that it's important we remember to slow down and enjoy them :) Thanks again for your work!

Thanks for the nice words! Maybe you can also have a look at yesterday's release, as there was a bug with the ruins after all. There is also a workaround for the savegame you are using I think (also described in the release). Flickering is highly depended on your own Hardware as well as the rest of the mods you are using. In general, the more sessions you have and settle, the more likely flickering gets, and the most dominant factor seems to be having multiple continental islands in the same session as some mods do.
