Description

When creating a one-to-many relationship the arrow appears to point in the wrong direction?

The arrow points from the many to the one, rather than the other way around.

Steps to Reproduce

Using the Contoso Sales and Stores tables drag a relationship between the tables in a Diagram view.

Expected behavior

The arrow will point from the store table to the sales table.

Were you able to successfully save this model to Power BI / Analysis Services? Normally, I would expect you would see an error message similar to the following, when the model contains a relationship configured like what your screenshot shows:

In other words, the table on the "To" side (typically the dimension table) filters the table on the "From" side (typically the fact table). I know it's super un-intuitive, but we tried to keep the convention used by Microsoft in their TOM documentation.

I think if you drag it from the fact table to the dimension, the diagram creates a wrong relationship filter direction. If you create the relationship from the table column in the TOM it works OK, and the diagram show it correctly.

The direction you drag when creating relationships affects how the "Create Relationship" dialog sets up the relationship. The column you drag ends up on the "to" side of the relationship, which then dictates the relationship's filter direction.
Tabular Editor does not try to infer the directionality but lets the developer decide what to do; this is, in part, a design philosophy fundamental to Tabular Editor and one of the reasons why there are fewer validation delays.
