gutter icon - does not show #65

First... Thank You. Love this package!
the setting: "icon_type_on_gutter" : "dot",
the default dot, nor any setting made in user causes a icon to appear in gutter.
I've tried "dot", "circle", "arrow_right" (any png in the Theme_default package.
again, your default w/o entry in user preference still does not display gutter icon.
Also, is there a way (keybinding) that I can use to temporarily disable word highlight while editing a file (so, when I double click on words, All instances are not highlighted)?
