"Service ID" is just an internal info, it's not written in the actual file. |

I was trying to figure out why Apple's TV.app wasn't merging season 1 and season 2 of the same show. Instead it was treating the two seasons as separate shows. This often happens when the name of the show varies across different metadata sources and is usually an easy fix. However in this instance all the metadata fields (that I could see) that should be the same, were the same. Eventually I realized I had pulled the Season One metadata from the Apple source and was pulling the Season Two metadata from the TVDB source. I did notice that there are two entries both called "Service ID" that are displayed when pulling up the Metadata from sources and they certainly differ depending on the source. These fields don't (seem to) appear in Subler but perhaps they (or some other field) persists across the process of importing the video file into Apple Video library and Subler users can't edit that field? Anyway, it would be convenient to be able to edit whatever field this was irrespective of the source of the metadata and in so doing have the import into the Apple video library proceed as expected.
