Gradle DSLs: Groovy vs Kotlin

We've had some discussion on the consistent usage of Groovy vs Kotlin DSLs for our Gradle scripts; I've heard values to both sides in regards to functionality, what's available, how it's used, etc.

If anyone has any specific thoughts on the subject, could you notate your thoughts?

Kotlin DSL is kotlin 1.3 not 1.4 even on gradle 7

That's not really an issue tbh - we were running Kotlin 1.3 on chat and wallet up until December-ish. Sure, it's not ideal, but it doesn't really stop us from using it.
