Lots of spurious timeline jumping

Describe the bug

When scrolling through the timeline, it jumps all over the place - it’s impossible to read timeline history right now, chunks are missing, pagination scrolls too far, and it constantly resets to the bottom

it seems to affect ios a lot more :/

but happens to me on android a lot too

so ios and android are both affected a lot
