not sure if this might be better on the mailing list?
scst_user_spec.pdf and the error message in scst_user.c suggest to

ask at license@scst-tgt.com e-mail address.

That email seems to bounce and the domain doesn't seem active. I guess it's (long?) deprecated?

I was wondering about the inconsistency between scst_user_spec.pdf which teases

license of this module, for instance, "GPL", "GPL v2", or "Proprietary".

and the more opinionated check in scst_user.c and it said to ask 😄

I pinged @vlnb directly and the option to get a proprietary license hasn't been active for a while.
So removing the "Ask for more info" lines would be the simpler way to "fix the glitch", and I'll re-think my plans 😄
