feature request: put icons and widgets on the desktop

Hope icons and widgets can be put on the desktop, just as the ubuntu's unity does. And in this case, a widget page, which stays beside the application page and appare whenever the Ubuntu icon is pressed, would be very helpful.

Widget support is already half-implemented. But I'm having some trouble getting it to work properly.
It is coming, but I can't really say when. Probably sometime when I have a lot of spare time.
