Helping Ropieee detect hardware volume control

I use a Micromega MyDAC and Ropieee has difficulty finding its hardware volume control. Is there any config option I can provide to Ropieee to help it detect the volume control?

My system also suffers from regular crashes whose cause is not clear to me. Maybe the report helps tackle that stability issue as well.
