Compatibility issues on Linux using Proton

Tbh, I don't really care about a proper Linux version as far as the Windows one works fine with Proton.
I play Rayman 2 [GOG] via Heroic on my Steam Deck.
RCP launches. but whenever I try downloading/installing a mod, I get an error: "Write access is not allowed to the game installation. Try restarting as administrator."
Any way to bypass/fix that? I don't really know if running RCP as admin would be possible.

I've figured out from a Reddit thread that you need to go to right-click on the game's directory folder, go to "Properties", then to "Permissions" and finally set all three groups (Owner, Group and Others) to "Can View & Modify Content".

Although as I've posted on here recently, I've hit another issue after solving the issue regarding write access.

Hi! DarkSparkish' advice worked!
Installing mods seems to work with no issue on RCP 14.4.0.3
Could you maybe add that info to the front Readme for other Linux fellows?

I'm not sure I follow - the error occurs from the game, not from RCP? Does it show any more info? Is it only when a specific mod is applied?

RCP gives that error back when clicking on Play
Seems like RCP can't launch games on SteamOS without further ado. No matter having mods installed or not.
…at least mod managing seems to work for now (more or less)

Fresh install of Rayman 2 and RCP can launch the game… Weird.
Also seems like, as far as Linux cares about the difference between lowercase and capital letters, textures just get messed up after installing the Higher Quality Official Textures mod :'(

That's very odd, it shouldn't change the character casing for any files when applying the mods, and even so I would assume Proton would be able to handle that? But I'm not really sure. Maybe someone else has an idea.

For updating the readme, I could add the note about needing to change the permissions yeah. Is there anything else I should add, like for setting it up in Proton/Wine?

Well, I'm not having a really consistent experience...

Finally got the HQ Official Textures mod working, but had installed Ray2fix manually before.
Now the only problem seems to be having the panoramic resolutions working.

For now I would just recommend to include DarkSparkish's advice on the Readme, and indicate that Linux compatibility through Wine/Proton is being investigated but more feedback is needed (if you, of course, are ok with it).
