I keep getting this error when trying to build the web starter app using 'gulp':
The imported project "c:\Microsoft.Cpp.Default.props" was not found. Confirm that the path in the declaration is correct, and that the file exists on disk.

The project was cloned and I ran the noted npm installation instructions. Are there any suggestions what may be the issue here?

Hmm... The only reason I know of that the webapp-starter would use C++ is for the node-sass module. But I have only seen errors during npm install not when running gulp. Did you see any errors when you did npm install? You might try deleting your node_modules directory and running npm install again. Here's are some possible solutions we found on stack overflow...
