What's up with the created_by property of a file version?

Given file = site.file url, file.versions[0].created_by cannot be accessed, giving
Sharepoint::SPException: The expression "SP.FileVersiond46a2310-db1d-4461-9f18-b6e8dbda498c/CreatedBy" is not valid.

I can print file.versions[0] and observe:
"CreatedBy"=>{"__deferred"=>{"uri"=>"https://....sharepoint.com/_api/SP.FileVersion.../CreatedBy"}}

Is there some way to get deferred values that I'm missing?

Is there a stacktrace for this ? It sounds like the property getter didn't get called properly. Something might be going wrong in Sharepoint::ObjectProperties#initialize_properties, which is supposed to generate getters for properties defined in Sharepoint's JSON responses.

It should be able to tell the difference between deferred properties and the ones which were directly included in the response, and have get_property(name) fallback to get_deferred_property(name).

Meanwhile, you can try to use get_deferred_property directly:

file.versions[0].send :get_deferred_property, 'CreatedBy'

But that's assuming that get_deferred_property isn't already where the exception was thrown from. On the contrary, it it did happen in get_deferred_property, I don't really know what could be happening: the uris provided in deferred properties come directly from Sharepoint, so I'm not sure there's anything we could do about this.
