Archive Node

Background

The Passage Chain does not currently have an archive node and will require one for completion of open-source initiatives including the Passage Indexer in order to easily query the past state of the chain at any point in time.

We estimate less than 5TB of disk usage for the first year.

Proposed Solutions

Allnodes
Allnodes.com charges the following based on disk space:

• Greater than 5TB: $1920/month
• Less than 5TB: $960/month

Community Bounty
We are open to proposals from Passage validators and community members for maintaining the archive node. If you are interested in this, please comment with your proposal.

Proposed Bounties:

• Vitwit has proposed $720/month (paid in PASG) to run the archive node for the minimum of one year.
• ZenChainLabs can set up and operate a Passage archive node at the following rates:
  • $850 per month where data is less than or equal to 5TB
  • $1200 per month where data is greater than 5TB
• NodeFleet has proposed setup/operation of archival Passage nodes on bare metal machines at the following rates:
  • $750 per month for data <= 5TB
  • $1,200 per month for data > 6TB
  • Their team has an existing node in EU/Germany . below you'll find the endpoints for testing benchmarking purposes.

Anil indicated to me that this is based on current storage requirements (less than 5TB), and would be revisited after the first year based on bandwidth and updated requirements
