Problem loading online basemap

Despite verifying that my project EPSG is correct, I am unable to load any online basemaps. The process fails even when using the ky4 model, which is specifically designed to demonstrate WMS integration according to the documentation. Could you please clarify if this is a known bug or if there is a specific configuration step I might have overlooked?

I assume you are using the latest release v1.0.2 on Windows. The online basemaps feature works OK on my machine.

The Transform Failure message typically appears when the project's coordinates are not compatible with the EPSG code specified. But looking at the X,Y: numbers in your screenshot it seems that these are valid EPSG 3089 (Kentucky State Plane) coordinates. The message can also appear if the program is unable to connect with the https://epsg.io site to get the full projection description of the EPSG code.

Here are some things you can check:

1. Confirm that the files proj.dll, libcrypto-3-x64.dll and libssl-3-x64.dll are in your epanet-UI installation folder.

2. See if you can load an online basemap for a new, blank project.

3. Open net3.inp and see if you can load a basemap for EPSG 4326 (it will show up as most of Africa, but that's OK since this is just a test).

Yes, I am using the latest version of EPANET-UI, i.e., Version 1.0.2 for Windows.

Results of suggested checks:

1. Confirm that the files proj.dll, libcrypto-3-x64.dll and libssl-3-x64.dll are in your epanet-UI installation folder.
Confirmed, they all exist.

2. See if you can load an online basemap for a new, blank project.
When the project was prepared in EPSG 4326 Bing Roads and Bing Satellite loaded and appeared. Other two (World Streets and OpenStreetMap) loaded but no map appeared, only white background appeared. When a new project was prepared in EPSG other than 4326 no basemap could be loaded.

3. Open net3.inp and see if you can load a basemap for EPSG 4326 (it will show up as most of Africa, but that's OK since this is just a test).
Same as above Point 2.

When I prepared a fresh project in EPSG 4326, same as above, the Bing maps appeared but the other two did not.

When the project is not in EPSG 4326 coordinate system, including the EPSG 3089 for KY4 model, the basemap failed to load and showed an error message:

“Could not transform EPSG xxxxx for basemap viewing.
Make sure you specify the correct EPSG code for your network.”

It appears that there is something about your Windows setup that is preventing the program from retrieving online basemaps. Some possibilities are a slow internet connection (causing web requests to time out) or sites being blocked by your firewall or an anti-virus program.
