Hard to trace originating snapshot in combined commits #1230

@clementbiron

Description

@clementbiron

In a combine commit, it is particularly difficult to know which snapshot the change comes from.
For example, on this commit, you need to :

  1. Click an view file in a new tab.
  2. Copy the text ‘For more information on fair use:’ from the diff and do a browser search in the file to find where the text is located.
  3. Go back up in the file and find the title of the document “Fair use policy”.
  4. Search the internet for “X community guidelines Fair use policy”, copy the link to the webpage
  5. Open the X declaration
  6. Find the url in the community guideline combine, count which document number it is in the combine; here it is 29.
  7. Open the commit again and find the corresponding 29th snapshot

I also note that the information displayed when hovering over the snapshot commit link can also help determine whether it is the correct commit, provided you know the URL.

Thanks to @Cli4d for bringing the problem to our attention.
