Going forward with 1.0, we should consider having Aviary's documentation being available per-version, similar to how OpenMDAO has version-specific documentation published on their website

I've done this before using Sphinx. The Python Requests Library is a great example of such: you switch between the versions of the docs in the bottom right of the page.
