Merging and unforking opensfm

Hi. I'd like to see the most recent opensfm code merged in, and maybe even un-forked. This would fix things like #1841. I'm willing to help. Is this something somebody is already working on? Any specific issues that are holding this up? And is there a specific reason the odm patches cannot be merged back into opensfm?
