When I grep for 2023 in the course directory, I still find some occurrences (for example in the clean.sh but also there seems to be also .aux, .log, .out and .toc files included in git?).

Maybe also change/remove these?

Is it correct that there still exist several matlab scripts in the course directory (exercise_6, exercise_lorenz_3var, exercise_steady_state_filter)?

I see that the exercise_black_box_steady_state_filter has been updated. Is it correct that the course pdf has not been adapted due to this change or should this still be done?

In Section 1.1, you refer to the directory exercise_pendulum_part1, which should be exercise_double_pendulum_part1.

Yes, those are currently not used exercises. We do not exactly know their current state (although they should work) but they are not touched unless needed for a future course.

correct. All changes are related to the performance of the run but it does not impact the exercises.
