D-06: Reassess whether manual session naming is needed #10

@roobottom

Description

@roobottom

Summary

Review whether session names should remain user-entered, be auto-generated, or be removed from the flow.

Rationale

Round 1 research showed that users mostly entered generic names, which suggests the field may not add enough value to justify the extra step.

Traceability

  • Decision: D-06
  • Source: docs/decisions/round-1.md
  • Finding: Round 1, finding 8
  • Related assumptions: A-06 naming sessions is useful
  • Labels: decision, research, round-1

Implementation checklist

  • Review where manual session names are used across the prototype
  • Decide whether to keep, auto-generate, or remove session naming
  • Update the relevant content, templates, and flows to reflect the chosen approach
  • Confirm whether any downstream screens rely on manual names for clarity
  • Define what should be tested in the next round before making this permanent
