Post Beta 1.3 Block Mining Delay

After beta 1.3, they patched the ability to click mine in multiplayer by changing the block mine delay from after you break a block to before you break a block, but this introduced an enormous delay when mining or doing anything that involves clicking in the world, even when holding the mouse click, it's still slower than pre beta 1.3.

I saw a "mod" that fixes this, but I wish it was available for beta 1.7.3.

According to the mod creator, he only changed a single value, but I've got no experience in modding minecraft stuff so I've got no idea where to start.

I would appreciate if you could take a look at this issue. I recorded a video showing the difference between a singleplayer world and a multiplayer one in beta 1.4. The speed mining shown at the start of the video was also possible in Beta 1.2 multiplayer as well.

If what you mean is porting click mining to newer game versions, I don't think the server does check for that really (anticheat plugins might though), it'd have to be a client mod.
