Issue with stdout when running in docker container

When the jar file is run inside a docker container the stdout is full of >>>>>>>> (picture below). I'm running base uberbukkit for b1.7.3 on a vanilla world with no plugins.

For anyone who comes across this I've bodged it by limiting the docker log sizes so it atleast doesn't crash my server in 2 hours.
