Test: ensure all numeric types round-trip through json unchanged

Make sure the unit test suite includes common and edge cases to exercise the full range of all numeric types, and that numbers can be converted to json and back again with no change in value or precision.

In particular, ensure decimal numbers can be round-tripped unchanged, as decimals are explicitly intended for this sort of consistent use.
