Code of Conduct

Our Pledge

We as contributors and maintainers pledge to make participation in the Detektor project and the broader OpenPAKT ecosystem a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

We commit to fostering an open, welcoming, respectful, and collaborative community focused on improving AI agent security, transparency, and responsible tooling.


Expected Behaviour

Examples of behaviour that contributes to a positive environment include:

  • Using welcoming and inclusive language
  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
  • Giving and accepting constructive feedback
  • Focusing on what is best for the project and the broader open-source security community
  • Showing empathy and patience toward other contributors
  • Engaging in responsible and ethical discussions around security research

Unacceptable Behaviour

Examples of unacceptable behaviour include:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or abusive language
  • Personal attacks, insults, or intimidation
  • Trolling, deliberate disruption, or inflammatory comments
  • Publishing private information without explicit permission
  • Misrepresenting security findings or engaging in irresponsible disclosure
  • Any conduct that would be considered inappropriate in a professional environment

Enforcement Responsibilities

Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying and enforcing the standards of acceptable behaviour.

Maintainers may remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, issues, pull requests, discussions, or other contributions that violate this Code of Conduct.

Maintainers may also temporarily or permanently restrict participation for individuals who repeatedly violate community standards.


Reporting Issues

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behaviour may be reported to the project maintainers through:

All reports will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.

Maintainers will respect the privacy and safety of the reporter to the extent possible.


Enforcement Actions

Maintainers may take any action they deem appropriate in response to violations of this Code of Conduct.

Possible consequences include:

  • A warning to the contributor
  • Temporary suspension from project participation
  • Removal of contributions
  • Permanent ban from the project community

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all project spaces, including:

  • GitHub issues
  • Pull requests
  • Discussions
  • Project documentation
  • Community interactions related to the Detektor project or OpenPAKT specification
