math is a standard module that should always be available in Python. So this is probably not an issue with any of the code in this repo, but rather one with your installation of Python.

A quick google search gave me results like this and this (and more). Does any of that help?

@DennisSoemers, thanks a lot for the pointers :)

the issue is that, even though the initAI() initialises the correct python interpreter, the code somehow still references the python installed in /usr/bin/python. the solution is to create ln link to the python version used to build the program.
