EcoRemote Agent

EcoRemote Agent is a research workflow prototype for ecological remote sensing, GIS spatial analysis, and ecosystem diversity assessment. It explores how AI agents can assist real scientific workflows that combine GIS projects, remote sensing imagery, geospatial scripts, classification experiments, and research documentation.

This repository is prepared as a transparent project prototype for the Xiaomi MiMo Token Creator Incentive Program. It is not a completed commercial offering. The current focus is workflow validation, reusable prompt design, script templates, and documentation of practical research scenarios.

Background

Ecological remote sensing research often involves many tools and data layers: QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, Google Earth Engine, Python, PyTorch, raster/vector datasets, field labels, classification outputs, and manuscript drafts. The workflow is powerful but fragmented. Researchers spend substantial time checking data properties, debugging scripts, recording experiments, summarizing model outputs, and converting technical results into reports.

EcoRemote Agent documents a prototype approach where AI coding agents and geospatial agents are used as research assistants rather than standalone tools. The project reflects ongoing experiments with tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, OpenGeoAgent, QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, Google Earth Engine, Python, and PyTorch.

Current Status

EcoRemote Agent is at the prototype and workflow validation stage.

Current work includes:

  • Testing AI-assisted code generation for GIS and remote sensing scripts.
  • Inspecting QGIS project layers with agent-assisted workflows.
  • Organizing remote sensing classification experiment steps.
  • Summarizing image fusion and classification outputs.
  • Drafting technical reports and research documentation.
  • Preparing prompt templates and reproducible workflow notes.

The repository intentionally avoids claims about public release status, adoption scale, monetization, or mature product features.

Main Use Cases

  • GIS project inspection and layer metadata summarization.
  • Google Earth Engine script planning and debugging.
  • Remote sensing feature stack preparation.
  • Random Forest and deep learning classification experiment support.
  • Accuracy assessment table interpretation and report drafting.
  • Technical documentation for ecological remote sensing workflows.
  • Bilingual research writing assistance for Chinese and English scientific contexts.

Research Scenarios

Potential research scenarios include:

  • Ecosystem type mapping from high-resolution remote sensing imagery.
  • PlanetScope, Sentinel-2, and fused-image classification experiments.
  • Landscape and ecosystem diversity assessment based on spatial products.
  • Protected area, watershed, or regional ecological monitoring workflows.
  • GIS project auditing before analysis or manuscript figure preparation.

Tools Used

The prototype workflow has been explored with:

  • AI coding and agent tools: Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, OpenGeoAgent.
  • GIS platforms: QGIS, ArcGIS Pro.
  • Cloud geospatial platform: Google Earth Engine.
  • Programming tools: Python, JavaScript, PyTorch, scikit-learn, rasterio, geopandas.
  • Research outputs: Markdown notes, CSV experiment tables, technical reports, manuscript drafts.

Planned MiMo Testing

If Xiaomi MiMo Token support is available, this project will test MiMo in:

  • Chinese scientific code generation for GIS and remote sensing tasks.
  • GIS spatial reasoning and data inspection assistance.
  • Remote sensing workflow planning.
  • Multi-step AI Agent task decomposition.
  • Technical report generation.
  • Chinese-English scientific writing support.

Expected outputs include prompt templates, workflow cases, script examples, model evaluation notes, and technical report examples.

Future Plan

  • Add more validated workflow cases from real research tasks.
  • Expand reusable prompt templates for GIS, GEE, classification, and report generation.
  • Build small evaluation notes comparing model behavior on research tasks.
  • Improve script templates for reproducible remote sensing experiments.
  • Add sanitized screenshots and evidence materials for application review.
  • Continue iterating toward a more structured research assistant workflow.

Disclaimer

EcoRemote Agent is a research workflow prototype, not a commercial offering. The repository documents practical exploration, workflow validation, and planned testing. It does not claim public release, adoption metrics, monetization, investment status, or a fully implemented feature set.
