Issue with non Latin characters in URLs

Hi

First of all thanks for the great extension!! However, i would like to describe my issue. I use the following extension [https://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/url-key-master-by-magendev.html] to enable the non Latin characters into URLs.

For example, i have the following product URL for two different store views

1. Greek Store View [the default store view] with Greek characters in URL [Product Greek URL]
   http://magento-22853-80095-237158.cloudwaysapps.com/μιντι-φορεμα-με-ανοιγμα-στο-λαιμο
   Also, i have enable your extension to remove the default store view code.

2. English Store View with Latin characters in URL and store code [Product English URL]
   http://magento-22853-80095-237158.cloudwaysapps.com/en/dress-with-opening

My issue
When switch between the store views all works fine. When switch between Greek to English store view and try to go back in Greek store view with Browser BACK BUTTON then returns that the URL (example http://magento-22853-80095-237158.cloudwaysapps.com/μιντι-φορεμα-με-ανοιγμα-στο-λαιμο) doesn't exist.
If enable to add the default store code in URL all works fine but when remove that when use the back button returns not found page. I observer that when press back button the store remains in the English version. Do you have any idea what i can do? Why the store remains in English version and how i can update that?

One more detail...I observer that the issue appears only when exist the store cookie. If not, all works fine.

Hi,

This extension works by catching page not found errors and retrying the URL in a different way. In the case that an URL doesn't contain a store code then the store cookie is used to help route the request. Here you see that the Greek path is not in the English store so creates an error. Clearly the expected behaviour of catching that error doesn't work. The Magendev extension must be doing something that prevents this extension from working. Perhaps it performs it's custom routing sooner than mine does.

With that theory let's try an experiment. In app/etc/modules/ please find the XML file for Magendev's extension, it should look something like this:

<config>
    <modules>
        <Magendev_Something>
            <active>true</active>
            <codePool>community</codePool>
        </Magendev_Something>
    </modules>
</config>

Now insert lines like this:

<config>
    <modules>
        <Magendev_SomethingOrOther>
            <active>true</active>
            <codePool>community</codePool>
            <!-- Insert here -->
            <depends>
                <Knectar_Storecodes/>
            </depends>
        </Magendev_SomethingOrOther>
    </modules>
</config>
```
Clear the cache and try switching store views again. If all goes well then Store Codes gets to handle URL requests first. I have to admit this is only a guess and may not have any effect at all. Good luck.

I've looked it over very carefully. There is no obvious bug so I would like to experiment with the Magendev extension. As it's a commercial extension we will have to work something out. Or maybe you could ask them for technical support since you have paid for it, they might be able to diagnose the problem on your site.
