Using Enum Classes

Could there be support for enum classes instead of using regular CL_* macros? It would make it a lot more C++ styled instead of just using the C macros.

I'm not opposed to this, but I'm also not convinced enum classes provides a significant benefit with the current C++ bindings.

Note that we do have enum classes in a few cases (e.g. QueueProperties), but this is definitely uncommon.

If we do decided to support enum classes, could we auto-generate them from the XML grammar vs. maintaining them manually?

If you parse for types with the category define, then get the <name> tag, and then get the value after the closing name tag, you can parse from the xml. This would also require handling stuff like &lt, I haven’t worked with XML a lot so I don’t know how difficult this would be but I believe it is possible to auto-generate from the XML.
