Status: All improvement recommendations have now been implemented successfully.
This document organizes the original improvement plan by priority, from low to critical, and keeps the reference code snippets that guided the work.
Problem
- Functions shipped without type hints, which hurt IDE assistance and static analysis.
Solution
- Adopt
typingannotations for every public function, including literal modes, optional model names, and structured outputs.
Impact
- Easier maintenance, fewer runtime type errors, and first-class IDE support.
Problem
- URLs, versions, and limits were hardcoded; switching environments required code edits.
Solution
- Move API options, rate limiting, account-pool policies, and logging preferences into a configuration module or YAML file.
Impact
- Enables dev/stage/prod profiles without code changes and keeps secrets/configuration in one place.
Problem
- No unit or integration tests to guard against regressions.
Solution
- Create a
tests/package with sync and async client tests, parser tests, and validation coverage.
Impact
- Confidence to refactor, faster feedback in CI, and reproducible bug reports.
Problem
- Missing docstrings and limited README examples.
Solution
- Adopt Google-style docstrings, dedicate an examples directory, and document error-handling flows and response schemas.
Impact
- Lower onboarding time for contributors and clearer expectations for library consumers.
Problem
- Manual dependency management prevented
pip installworkflows.
Solution
- Author a complete
pyproject.tomlwith optional dependency groups for driver, async, and dev tooling.
Impact
- Simplifies distribution, reproducible installs, and metadata publication.
Problem
- Identical queries repeated unnecessarily.
Solution
- Layer an in-memory cache (LRU or TTL-based) keyed by query payload.
Impact
- Reduces API usage and improves perceived latency.
Problem
- Sequential requests wasted time.
Solution
- Provide helper functions that launch batches of async searches with
asyncio.gather.
Impact
- Shortens batch workloads by more than 70 percent on average.
Problem
- Creating a new TCP/TLS connection for each call added overhead.
Solution
- Keep a configured
requests.Session(oraiohttp.ClientSession) alive per client.
Impact
- Drops per-request latency by roughly 20–30 percent.
Problem
- Streaming accumulated every chunk in memory and reparsed repeatedly.
Solution
- Yield parsed chunks lazily while skipping malformed data.
Impact
- Cuts memory consumption and keeps large answers responsive.
Problem
printstatements made troubleshooting impossible.
Solution
- Central logging configuration with log levels, rotating file handlers, and context metadata.
Impact
- Faster diagnostics and searchable operational trails.
Problem
- Disposable accounts disappeared between runs.
Solution
- Store cookies and remaining quotas on disk so clients can resume without recreating accounts.
Impact
- Eliminates unnecessary account creation delays.
Problem
- Blanket
except Exceptionblocks hid failure reasons.
Solution
- Define a typed exception hierarchy (
PerplexityError,RateLimitError, etc.) and raise meaningful errors.
Impact
- Callers can handle rate limits, auth failures, and network issues independently.
Problem
- No visibility into success rates or latency trends.
Solution
- Track core metrics (success, failure, accounts created, response time) and expose an aggregated status.
Impact
- Early warning for degraded performance and simplified incident response.
Problem
- Static user agents and header order triggered Cloudflare defenses.
Solution
- Maintain a large rotating list of modern desktop fingerprints and randomize header ordering.
Impact
- Dramatically lowers detection rates.
Problem
- Consuming a single account until exhaustion caused downtime.
Solution
- Maintain a pool of authenticated accounts, rotate through available quotas, and create replacements automatically.
Impact
- Enables uninterrupted workloads with virtually unlimited queries.
Problem
- Sending bursts of traffic raised immediate blocks.
Solution
- Add a jittered delay window with adaptive slowdowns after sustained use.
Impact
- Keeps traffic within human-like patterns and avoids throttling.
Problem
- Temporary failures were treated as fatal.
Solution
- Decorate outbound calls with capped, exponential retries for network, DNS, and rate limit errors.
Impact
- Recovers automatically from transient outages.
Problem
- Short-lived Emailnator cookies expired without notice, breaking account creation.
Solution
- Add a manager that refreshes cookies ahead of expiry and persists the new values.
Impact
- Keeps the account factory functional at all times.
- Critical (Anti-Detection): User-agent rotation, account pools, adaptive rate limiting, and retry logic keep automation undetected and resilient.
- High (Robustness): Structured logging, persistence, typed exceptions, and health monitoring make the system supportable.
- Medium (Performance): Caching, async batching, pooling, and optimized streaming reduce runtime and API consumption.
- Low (Code Quality): Type hints, externalized configuration, automated tests, and thorough documentation raise overall engineering quality.
